Soharab Khan
Soharab Khan, the director and owner of mango optical; graduated from Caledonian university in 1990 and was a founder director of the Specsavers group in Scotland. The best aspects of care from that experience helped him develop the core values of mango optical. More recently he has undergone further training in Paris to bring 'mango optical' up to the status of Varilux Specialists. Soharab practices in the Uddingston branch every Monday, Wednesday morning and all day Saturday, and in the Glasgow branch every Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday.
Lynn Garbutt
Lynn Garbutt has been manager of the Glasgow store since it opened in 2000. She has worked in the optical industry for 17 years and this experience has helped Lynn guide the Cambridge Street practice from its infancy to the established and successful store it is today. She is passionate about keeping up to date with optical fashion trends and insists on hand picking her designer frames ensuring that mango optical provides a desirable and exciting look for all.
Suzanne Reid
Suzanne Reid, the manager of the Uddingston store, is a former pupil of Uddingston Grammar. As a founder member of mango optical Uddingston, opened January 2002, Suzanne has been integral in establishing the quality and service that has built the reputation of the practice. With her organisational skills and up to date product knowledge, Suzanne is in charge of ordering all our tailor made ophthalmic lenses.
Lynette Stewart
Lynette Stewart, who assists Lynn in the Glasgow practice, joined mango optical in February 2006. She has worked in the optical industry since April 2002 during which time she has completed the Optometric Clinical Assistants course with the Anglia University for which she has a diploma of credit. Lynette is the contact lens coordinator within the Cambridge Street store and has helped to strengthen and streamline this side of the business since joining mango optical.
Jo Paterson
Jo Paterson, who assists Suzanne in the Uddingston practice, joined mango optical in August 2005. Coming from a background of customer service and management within the G1 group, she has complemented the team adding drive, sales and great enthusiasm for her new career. Jo intends to attain her Optometric Clinical Assistants diploma in 2008 and her chosen aim is to concentrate on sales development within the company. Jo's lively personality made her the ideal choice for mango optical social coordinator.
Nikki Wilson
Nikki Wilson, the newest member of the team, joined mango optical in September 2007. A former pupil of Uddingston Grammar School, Nikki now looks forward to pursuing a long career in optics. Having completed her first level of optical training in record time, her ability to learn quickly and her enthusiasm for the job has made her a welcome addition to both practices. Nikki will begin the Anglia University course next year to attain the Optometric Clinical Assistant diploma.
Peter Bailey
Peter Bailey graduated from Caledonian university in 2004 and continued his pre reg training with Boots Opticians in their prestigious Edinburgh practice situated in Princess Street. Peter's high level of professionalism and fondness for continuing education has seen him obtain a diploma in Performance, Vision and Sport through the Vision Care Institute. This will enable mango optical to assess and correct the visual status of sports men and women in the build up to the Commonwealth games in 2014 and the Olympic games in London 2018. Peter splits his time equally between both practices.
